After decades of "working for the man" I was rewarded for my toil with an early retirement and escaped to a life of relaxation in Mexico. First the beach was the place to be; building a home overlooking the ocean in a small village in the state of Nayarit. It was magical. While there it was time to explore a lifelong interest in painting. After a fulfilling and surprising success with acrylics it was time to explore other media.
With a move to the second largest city in Mexico, Guadalajara, photography beckoned again. Digital photography had held an interest since the 1990's when one had to record images on 3.5" floppy disks and try to manipulate the image in early home computers. Fortunately by the beginning of the century the technology had evolved and so had I.
One day an interior decorator, with major contracts with many of the top resorts in the country, saw some of my work and asked if one or two could be made larger. That investigation let me to a printing firm that could produce images on canvas in sizes of 1m x3m (3ft x 10ft) or larger. For the next few years my works were mostly printed for interior design installations in resorts and high end hotels across Mexico and the Caribbean.
After nearly a decade living south of the border it was time for a change and a return to the States. Sadly, the times in the States had also changed which meant returning to work and only working with my camera occasionally for a few years. Full retirement finally arrived and, for the past years life and time has been devoted to photography and travel. Hence, the body of artwork has been growing and now reflects diverse subject matter. Never ceasing to learn more and gaining in knowledge of this art form keep it exciting and interesting. Of course, the occasional sale and praise from others does not hurt either.
It is a source of pride for me to be able to say that I have works gracing the walls of several private collections in the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Netherlands and a few other countries.
It is my sincere hope that some of you will enjoy and or relate to my work enough to make the decision to add a piece or two to your own collections, or perhaps request that I send a piece to someone as a special gift.
